Organic fairtrade virgin Sesame oil
Presentation
100% Organic virgin Sesame oil from the first cold pressing. The oil is extracted from sesamum indicum, a herbaceous plant from the pedaliaceae (?) family. Growing sesame dates back to ancient times, extending from west Africa, the Middle East to Central America. The seeds we use come exclusively from Burkina Faso (Africa) and Mali. They are grown according to organic farming methods, meaning no synthetic fertilisers or pesticides are used but, on the contrary, green fertilisers and crop rotation, as a natural way of eliminating pests. It has a hazelnut flavour.

Nutritional benefits
NUTRITION: The balance between oleic acid C18:1 (40%) and linoleic acid C18:2 (40%) makes this oil a very good table oil in diets aiming to prevent cardiovascular diseases and reducing 'bad cholesterol''. The presence of lecithin, via its role as an emulsifier, helps prevent a build-up of cholesterol and saturated fats in the arteries. - BODY: The presence of 2 constituents not usually found in classic vegetable & plant oils, sesamine and sesamoline, give virgin sesame oil powerful antioxidant qualities, therefore great stability against oxidation. Virgin sesame oil used for a massage makes the skin more elastic and slows down the ageing process. Linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid present in virgin sesame oil helps prevent the epidermis from thickening and favours a reduction in water loss through the outer layer of the epidermis.''
